No one afraid. Only US worry that they will lost world power.
Every 10 year China will show off Military power in NDP in big show.
Next one US will be worry how fast China advance. They will have at least 2 functional Aircraft carrier, stealth jet fighter,...............................

Anyway all the military parading mean not much. In forced into a real fight, USA sure win. The cost is huge but still sure win. The combined US and UK navies actually mapped out coverage of all the seas and the skies over the seas. Even Russia can't do anything about it. A worldwide shipping blockade would choke and starve PRC into internal rebellion sooner or later. There's no way any country in the world can beat that evil twin combo. That's the reward of winning two world wars and a cold war, nothing to say. They can invade you but you can't invade them.
I think the Ah Tiongs will move south rather then West if they really want war. Russia is close ally, India have a freaking mountain separating them while SEA has huge natural resources but made up of small kuchin kurup countries. Not forgetting the Jipun kia took over the whole of SEA in less then 3 mths, we're way easier to take then the other countries.
Seriously though, currently the China man doesn't seem to have any expansion ambition outside of Taiwan

Hoping that the rest of the world give the Yanks a run for their capital dollars. It is not good to have only one nation (USA) to be dependant on.
China is catching up quick but she has to solve a lot of internal problems first. A fast growing social divide isn't going to be helpful, considering the revolution towards a classless society has been hijacked by the 2nd generation of party leaders. Those with cash in hand are emigrating by the ton loads. A lack of moral codes and religious ethics only fuels corruption and places money as the nation's top objective. Without strong social mores to cement common virtues and national goal - it is unlikely to make headway that benefits the majority and the country will break up. China has to address these issues - and fast.
Todate, her military is only useful for suppressing internal revolts and dissent . Her aircraft carriers are for providing job, and nationalism.

I don't think the USA will want to fight wit lh a big country like China, she is having a hard time with a bunch of runabouts like the Taliban. And I don't think PRC will want to fight with a big country like USA, she is having trouble with guerilla groups like some Uighurs and Tibetans within her own borders. Nations these days want to trade and make money.

US cannot legally blockade China because China has the power of Nyet. The UK political situation would never allow the UK to get into another war without UN sanction. In any case, unless the US also blockade Russia, that strategy will fail because the first thing to happen is that Kazakhstan and Mongolia will either allow free passage between China and Russia or be overrun which means that China will not be effectively blockaded.
China won't attack anyone anyway, not even Taiwan.
I agree. Powerful countries won't fight each other. They use less powerful but more messy countries for proxy wars.
