Avoiding Migraines While Traveling:

Traveling can bring on migraines because normal routines are disrupted, causing stress. But by following a few easy tips, you can stay one step ahead of potential triggers. First, give yourself plenty of time to prepare for your trip, to avoid feeling rushed. Try to get your normal amount of sleep while traveling, and stick to a regular eating schedule. Also, limit caffeine consumption to your usual amount, and stay well-hydrated with water.

Try not to overexert yourself with too much activity, alcohol, or sweets, and take care to avoid loud noises, bright lights, and temperature extremes. Be prepared for climate changes, and bring along any medications you use for migraines. For more tips, read the full article at EverydayHealth.com, and help keep your travels headache-free.

10 Tips for Taming Migraines While Traveling

Whether you're globe-trotting for business or pleasure, don't let the possibility of a migraine get you down when you're traveling. Take extra care to avoid known triggers and follow these tips to help make sure your trip is headache free.
Plan ahead. Traveling can be stressful, and stress is a common trigger for migraines, so save yourself the headache by organizing your itinerary and your pre-travel errands in advance. Prepare your luggage at least a day ahead, arrange for some downtime to relax before you take off, and leave plenty of time to get to your destination, whether you're driving, flying, or boarding a bus, train, or boat.

Sleep well. Disrupting your usual sleeping pattern can make you more susceptible to migraines. Therefore, make every effort to get enough — but not too much — sleep during your travels, and especially on the night before your departure. Nobody wants to spend the first day of a trip nursing a migraine.

Eat right. One of the best things about traveling to new places is indulging in the local cuisine, but if you know that certain foods — for example, chocolate, cheese, red wine, citrus, soy sauce, sugar, artificial sweeteners — tend to trigger your migraines, steer clear of them. Stick with a regular eating schedule — getting off-schedule or leaving long periods between meals can also induce a headache. Additionally, keep your caffeine consumption on a par with your usual intake because increasing or decreasing your caffeine levels can trigger migraines.

Drink water. Be sure to stay hydrated, especially if you're flying, spending time in a hot climate, or participating in vigorous physical activity, such as hiking, skiing, or swimming.

Don't overdo it. Whether you're going on a business trip, a vacation, or just visiting family or friends, you may be tempted to try to fit in as much as possible, but too much activity, too much alcohol, and even too many sweets can increase your risk of developing a migraine.

Avoid potential risks. People who are susceptible to migraines are usually sensitive to bright or flickering light, extremes of hot and cold, loud noises, and strong odors. Do your best to avoid or minimize your exposure to such potential triggers. Pack sunglasses, a sleeping mask, and earplugs.

Seek smoke-free alternatives. Smoking is still allowed in many public and privately owned places, including restaurants, bars, hotels, and offices. Since studies show that tobacco smoke is linked to migraines, ask for nonsmoking rooms, rental cars, and seating accommodations on trains and buses. Look for eating establishments that prohibit smoking, or choose a table in an outdoor area, where smoke will be less concentrated. Do your best to limit your exposure to secondhand smoke, especially in the early part of your trip, while you're adjusting to the new environment.

Be mindful of motion. Motion sickness is another top migraine trigger, so take medication along with you to stave off any illness if you're jostled around in a car or on a plane, train, or boat.

Be prepared for a change in climate. If you're traveling far enough away to experience a change in climate or an extreme change of weather, be aware that changes in temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure can cause migraines. Additionally, if you're going to be deep-sea diving or skiing or snowboarding at high altitudes, you also risk migraine discomfort. While you can't control these influences, you can take precautions to head off migraines or at least reduce their severity.

Don't forget your medication. If you take any over-the-counter medications or if you've been prescribed any drugs to ease migraine pain, be sure to take them with you on your trip. Furthermore, keep a dose handy during any day excursions you take in case you get hit with a migraine while you're away from your toiletries.

Even if you take every possible precaution, you may still end up with a migraine while traveling. If this happens, take time out to be by yourself and de-stress until you're feeling better. Make sure you've eaten and that you're properly hydrated. Take medication. And avoid negative thinking — your whole trip doesn't have to be ruined by migraine pain.

Happy Travelling

What is Gout

Gout is a condition that is brought on by an excessive amount of uric acid, an end product of purines, in the body. Excess uric acid in the blood, called hyperurecemia, can occur when the body either over-produces uric acid, fails to elimate it properly, or a combination of the two.

Needle-shaped uric acid crystals form in the connective tissue of the joints. As white blood cells rupture when attempting to ingest the crystals, other white blood cells accumulate, resulting in inflammation and excrutiating pain. Attacks of gout can occur with little or no notice, usually in joints of the outer extremities, such as the large toe. This is probably due to the lower body temperature found in these areas.

Attacks can be brought on by many causes: surgery, some diuretic medications, dehydration, alcohol consumption, extreme changes in diet, use of aspirin (a salicylate), renal insufficiency, trauma, and a diet of foods high in purines.
About 5.9 million people in the United States suffer from gout, and the numbers are growing. More than 70 per cent are men over 40. Gout does not usually occur in women until after menopause.

Treatments include symptom-relieving medicines such as anti-inflammatories and colchicine, preventive medicines such as allopurinol, elimination of alcohol, and a diet of foods lower in purines. Interestingly, gout is said to be the only rheumatic disease known to be helped when certain foods are avoided.

Natural Treatments for Gout - Gout Information

Gout is one of the most common forms of arthritis (joint inflammation). Gout is condition that results from crystals of uric acid depositing in tissues of the body. Gout usually affects the first metatarsal phalangeal joint of the big toe (hallux) or the ankle joints. Gout most often affects the big toe but can also affect the ankle, knee, foot, hand, wrist and elbow. Approximately one million people in the United States suffer from attacks of gout. Gout is nine times more common in men than in women. It predominantly attacks males after puberty, with a peak age of 75. In women, gout attacks usually occur after menopause.

It occurs more frequently in countries that have a high standard of living. The most common sign of gout is a nighttime attack of swelling, tenderness, redness, and sharp pain in your big toe. There may also be the feeling that the skin around the area is stretching or tearing. There seem to be a number of factors that can cause people to develop gout. Some medications can prevent uric acid from leaving the body. Cyclosporine which is a medication used to suppress the body's immune system and prevent rejection after organ transplant, also increases the risk for developing gout. This can cause a build up of uric acid crystals.

Alcohol and certain foods can trigger a gout attack. Events such as strokes, heart attacks or surgery may also cause gout. Gout is strongly associated with obesity, hypertension, hyperlipidemia and diabetes. Because of genetic factors, gout tends to run in some families. A variety of treatments can help you manage your gout. Traditionally treatment for acute gout has consisted of colchicine , which can be effective if given early in the attack. Gout often is treated with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs) such as naproxen (e.g., Anaprox, Naprosyn) and indomethacin (e.g., Indocin), usually for 3--7 days.

To prevent future attacks, your doctor can prescribe a medicine to reduce uric acid buildup in your blood. Changing the way you eat can help you conduct your gout. Eat a healthy mix of foods so you get the nutrients you need. Limit foods like meat, fish, and beer. Drink plenty of water and other fluids. Life style changes such as limiting alcohol consumption, and limiting meals with meats and fish rich in purines can also be helpful in controlling gout. Weight loss may be very important this condition. You should also avoid certain animal proteins, such as: seafood; liver; kidney; heart; gizzard; sweetbreads; meat extracts; and gravy.

Herbal remedies for gout have become very popular in recent years. There is very little evidence right now that shows alternative therapies are effective for gout. Blueberries are high in anti-inflammatory compounds called anthocyanins, which help ease the pain of gout. Other herbal treatments that have shown some success include vitamin C - Taking supplemental amounts of vitamin C helps some people to reduce the uric acid in their blood.

What Is a Heart Attack?

A heart attack occurs when blood flow to a section of heart muscle becomes blocked. If the flow of blood isn’t restored quickly, the section of heart muscle becomes damaged from lack of oxygen and begins to die.

Heart attack is a leading killer of both men and women in everywhere. But fortunately, today there are excellent treatments for heart attack that can save lives and prevent disabilities. Treatment is most effective when started within 1 hour of the beginning of symptoms. If you think you or someone you’re with is having a heart attack, call 9–9–5 right away.

Overview

Heart attacks occur most often as a result of a condition called coronary artery disease (CAD). In CAD, a fatty material called plaque (plak) builds up over many years on the inside walls of the coronary arteries (the arteries that supply blood and oxygen to your heart). Eventually, an area of plaque can rupture, causing a blood clot to form on the surface of the plaque. If the clot becomes large enough, it can mostly or completely block the flow of oxygen-rich blood to the part of the heart muscle fed by the artery.

Heart With Muscle Damage and a Blocked Artery

heart_coronary_artery.gif

Figure A is an overview of a heart and coronary artery showing damage (dead heart muscle) caused by a heart attack. Figure B is a cross-section of the coronary artery with plaque buildup and a blood clot.

During a heart attack, if the blockage in the coronary artery isn’t treated quickly, the heart muscle will begin to die and be replaced by scar tissue. This heart damage may not be obvious, or it may cause severe or long-lasting problems.

Severe problems linked to heart attack can include heart failure and life-threatening arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats). Heart failure is a condition in which the heart can’t pump enough blood throughout the body. Ventricular fibrillation is a serious arrhythmia that can cause death if not treated quickly.

Get Help Quickly
Acting fast at the first sign of heart attack symptoms can save your life and limit damage to your heart. Treatment is most effective when started within 1 hour of the beginning of symptoms.

The most common heart attack signs and symptoms are:

- Chest discomfort or pain—uncomfortable pressure, squeezing, fullness, or pain in the center of the chest that can be mild or strong. This discomfort or pain lasts more than a few minutes or goes away and comes back.
- Upper body discomfort in one or both arms, the back, neck, jaw, or stomach.
- Shortness of breath may occur with or before chest discomfort.
- Other signs include nausea (feeling sick to your stomach), vomiting, lightheadedness or fainting, or breaking out in a cold sweat.

If you think you or someone you know may be having a heart attack:

- Call 9–9–5 within a few minutes—5 at the most—of the start of symptoms.
- If your symptoms stop completely in less than 5 minutes, still call your doctor.
- Only take an ambulance to the hospital. Going in a private car can delay treatment.
- Take a nitroglycerin pill if your doctor has prescribed this type of medicine.

Many more people could recover from heart attacks if they got help faster. Of the people who die from heart attacks, about half die within an hour of the first symptoms and before they reach the hospital.

Health Benefits Of Sex

If you thought that making love was just a gesture of love or for pleasure, think again. Sex has much more to it than most of us think and know. Did you know that sex is a form of physical exercise? Sex three times a week burns lots of calories, and if maintained throughout the year, is equivalent to jogging 75 miles. To make it simpler, a vigorous bout burns around 200 calories, about the same as running 15 minutes on a treadmill. Regular sex is regular exercise and has similar benefits, including improved cholesterol levels and increased circulation Apart from giving you a good work out, sex once or twice a week improves the immune system as well.

Research has shown that an active sex life helps us live longer. Organs and systems in the body perform better and remain healthy because sex increases the supply of oxygen to the cells and stimulates the activity of various organs and systems within the body. People with complaints of cholesterol, take heart! You have a good medicine, which you would not refuse. Where sex balances out the good cholesterol to bad cholesterol ratio, it also simultaneously reduces the overall cholesterol count in the body. So there you go, you can now control your bad cholesterol with pleasure. By having sex three or more times a week, men reduce their risk of heart attack or stroke by half.

Aches and pains? Studies have shown that sex reduces headaches and joint pain. In medical terms immediately before orgasm, levels of the hormone oxytocin surge to five times their normal level. This in turn releases endorphins, which alleviate pain from everything, headache to arthritis to even migraine. So next time instead of the pill, it is your partner you need to reach out to.

Prostate gland-related disorders are known to be caused by or worsen as a result of the secretions from the gland. Regular sexual activity eliminates these harmful secretions and also helps protect prostate from cancer. In short it means sex for a healthy prostrate.

Life today is highly stressful. Sex is a great stress reliever. The relaxation after sex is beneficial for the mind and the circulatory system. Sex works like therapy in our stressful lives and helps flush out tension. In 1997, British Medical Journal, published a report that men who reported the highest frequency of orgasm enjoyed a death rate half that of the laggard.

In women, regular sex increases the level of female hormone, which reduces the risk of heart disease and softens the vaginal tract. Sex also prompts production of estrogen, which can reduce the pain of PMS (Pre Menstrual Syndrome). This is not all. Regular sessions can tone and firm all those not- so pleasant abs and the behind. It also improves posture. Studies have shown that sexual activity might prevent endometriosis, a common gynecological condition that occur in women, when the tissue lining the inside of a woman's uterus grows in other places, such as on the ovaries or fallopian tubes. This growth can be dangerous causing pelvic pain and sometimes infertility. The study, published in 2002 in the journal Gynecologic and Obstetric Investigation, found that women who were sexually active during menstruation were 1.5 times less likely to develop endometriosis than women who didn't have sex during their periods. Sex has much more to offer than what it just seems to be. Did you know that thousands of years ago, people used, now what we call 'sex energy' to reach higher degrees of awareness?

Statutory Warning: This however doesn't imply that you indulge in casual and unrestrained sex. This will only add to your stress, tension and sexually transmitted diseases.

PARIS (AFP) - - Men and women in their early seventies are having sex more often and enjoying it more than their counterparts three and four decades ago, according to a Swedish study published Wednesday.

Septuagenarian women in particular expressed satisfaction with their amorous activities, suggesting they may have benefited more from the loosening of sexual mores.

Despite an array of literature on the sexual habits and attitudes of younger adults, very little is known about what happens between the sheets for healthy men and women aged 70 and older.

Previous research has tended to focus on what goes wrong, sexually speaking, which has created the impression that the sex life of older people is dismal or non-existent.

Not true, according to Nils Beckman, a doctoral candidate at the University of Gothenburg.

"Our study shows that most elderly people consider sexual activity and associated feelings a natural part of later life," he said.

Compared to the same age group in 1971, nearly twice as many married female septegenarians reported having sexual intercourse in 2001, and a sharply higher percentage said they "always or usually" experienced orgasms, noted the study.

And while more than 10 percent of women interviewed 40 years ago had never had sex at all, by century's end that percentage had dropped to 0.4 percent -- a single respondent out of 229.

For men, too, sex at 70 on the cusp of the 21st century seemed to bring more pleasure than for older men of a previous generation.

But the news was not totally good: more men in 2001 also complained of low or no satisfaction, perhaps reflecting a cultural shift in openness in talking about sex.

And while the number of men reporting erectile dysfunction dropped, a higher number of men said they had ejaculation problems. The rate of premature ejaculation did not change.

Beckman and colleagues studied attitudes towards sex in later life based on interviews with Swedish 70-year-olds at four different points in time: 1972, 1977, 1993 and 2001.

The study is published in the British Medical Journal (BMJ).

"The implication is that a generation's sexual change -- perhaps linked to the sexual revolution of 1965-75 -- is evident in this latest cohort of 70-year-olds," Peggy Kleinplatz, a professor at the University of Ottawa in Canada, wrote in a commentary, also in the BMJ.

Water or Coke ?

WATER
#1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.
(Likely applies to half the world population.)

#2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak
that it is mistaken for hunger.

#3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as 3%.

#4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs
for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of
Washington study.

#5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

#6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of
water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain
for up to 80% of sufferers.

#7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term
memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on
the computer screen or on a printed page.

#8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of
colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast
cancer by 79%., and one is 50% less likely to develop
bladder cancer. Are you drinking the amount of water
you should drink every day?

COKE

#1. In many states the highway patrol carries
two gallons of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from
the highway after a car accident.

#2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of Coke
and it will be gone in two days.

#3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the
toilet bowl and let the 'real thing' sit for one hour,
then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes
stains from vitreous china.

#4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers:
Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds
Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.

#5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour
a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble
away the corrosion.

#6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Apply a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola
to the rusted bolt for several minutes.

#7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into
the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake.
Thirty minutes before ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing t he
drippings to mix
with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.

#8... To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of Coke
into the load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run
through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen
grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your
windshield.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION:

#1. the active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid.
It will dissolve a nail in about four days. Phosphoric
acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major
contributor to the rising increase of osteoporosis.

#2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup! (the concentrate) the
commercial trucks must use a hazardous Material place
cards reserved for highly corrosive materials.

#3. The distributors of Coke have been using it to clean
engines of the trucks for about 20 years!

Now the question is, would you like a glass of water?

or Coke?

Egg yolks are good for you - The truth about egg yolks

eggyolk.jpg

Many people throw away the egg yolk because they think that's where all the nasty fat and cholesterol is". This is a perfect example of how confused most people are about nutrition.

In a world full of misinformation, somehow most people now mistakenly think that the egg yolk is the worst part of the egg, when in fact, the YOLK IS THE HEALTHIEST PART OF THE EGG!

By throwing out the yolk and only eating egg whites, you're essentially throwing out the most nutrient dense, antioxidant-rich, vitamin and mineral loaded portion of the egg. The yolks contain so many B-vitamins, trace minerals, vitamin A, folate, choline, lutein, and other powerful nutrients... it's not even worth trying to list them all.

In fact, the egg whites are almost devoid of nutrition compared to the yolk. Even the protein in egg whites isn't as powerful without the yolks to balance out the amino acid profile and make the protein more bio-available. Not to even mention that the egg yolks from free range chickens are loaded with omega-3 fatty acids. Yolks contain more than 90% of the calcium, iron, phosphorus, zinc, thiamin, B6, folate, and B12, and panthothenic acid of the egg. In addition, the yolks contain all of the fat soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K in the egg, as well as all of the essential fatty acids.

And now the common objection I get all the time when I say that the yolks are the most nutritious part of the egg..."But I heard that whole eggs will skyrocket my cholesterol through the roof ." No, this is FALSE!

First of all, when you eat a food that contains a high amount of dietary cholesterol such as eggs, your body down-regulates it's internal production of cholesterol to balance things out. On the other hand, if you don't eat enough cholesterol, your body simply produces more since cholesterol has tons of important functions in the body.

And here's where it gets even more interesting...There are indications that eating whole eggs actually raises your good HDL cholesterol to a higher degree than LDL cholesterol, thereby improving your overall cholesterol ratio and blood
chemistry.

And 3rd... high cholesterol is NOT a disease! Heart disease is a disease...but high cholesterol is NOT.

You can read the following article about why trying to attack cholesterol is a mistake, and what the REAL deadly risk factors actually are...

http://www.truthaboutabs.com/cholesterol-myths.html

So I hope we've established that whole eggs are not some evil food that will wreck your body... instead whole eggs are FAR superior to egg whites.

Also, your normal supermarket eggs coming from mass factory farming just don't compare nutritionally with organic free range eggs from healthy chickens that are allowed to roam freely and eat a more natural diet.

I recently compared eggs I bought at the grocery store with a batch of eggs I got at a farm stand where the chickens were free roaming and healthy. Most people don't realize that there's a major difference because they've never bought real eggs from healthy chickens... The eggs from the grocery store had pale yellow yolks. On the other hand, the healthier free range eggs had deep orange colored yolks indicating much higher nutrition levels and carotenoids.

So next time a health or fitness professional tells you that egg whites are superior, you can quietly ignore their advice knowing that you understand the REAL deal about egg yolks.

One more thing about eggs... I read a study recently that compared groups of people that ate egg breakfasts vs groups of people that ate cereal or bagel based breakfasts. The results of the study showed that the egg eaters lost or maintained a healthier bodyweight, while the cereal/bagel eaters gained weight.

It was hypothesized that the egg eaters actually ate less calories during the remainder of the day because their appetite was more satisfied compared to the cereal/bagel eaters who would have been more prone to wild blood sugar swings and food cravings.

Re: Health Corner - Tips & Info

I disagree with the egg part.

<< high cholesterol is NOT a disease! Heart disease is a disease...but high cholesterol is NOT>>

That is correct. but constant high cholestrol in the blood will lead to heart disease. WHy he didn't state that, a study that is funded by the poultry industry?

Our body itself can produce enough amount of cholestrol and do not need any other cholestrol from outside. as it says here.
<< First of all, when you eat a food that contains a high amount of dietary cholesterol such as eggs, your body down-regulates it's internal production of cholesterol to balance things out. On the other hand, if you don't eat enough cholesterol, your body simply produces more since cholesterol has tons of important functions in the body.>.

So there is no need to eat eggs or meat for cholestrol.

Just got an email frommy friend - Stroke Sign

The following was sent to me by a friend who suffered a stroke about a year ago. He's still undergoing therapy and with great results. He asked me to pass this along to you.

Many of you may already be aware of these signs. Nevertheless it's a good idea for you to review them and, certainly, valuable information for those of you who are unfamiliar with the signs. Please scroll down; memorize these simple steps. You could save a life.

I hope you never NEED to use this information.

Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:

S *Ask the individual to SMILE.

T *Ask the person to TALK and
SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE
(Coherently) (i.e. It is sunny
out today)

R *Ask him or her to RAISE
BOTH ARMS.

If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call 999/911
immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

New Sign of a Stroke -Stick out Your tongue

NOTE: Another 'sign' of a stroke is this: Ask the person to 'stick' out his tongue.. If the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other, that is also an indication of a stroke.

A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this e-mail sends it to 10 people; you can bet that at least one life will be saved.

Re: Health Corner - Tips & Info

I usually eat whole eggs, as in fried eggs and half-boiled eggs. However, I don't eat the yolk of hard boiled eggs since I was a kid. First, I find hard boiled yolk dry and powdery and not to my taste. Then, I was also told that hard boiled yolk has its nutritional properties destroyed through the hard boiling process. Though I'm no nutitionist or dietician, it kind of makes sense to me. Hard boiled yolk neither looks nor tastes like fried or half-boiled yolk. Hard boiled yolk also destroys the look and taste of soup-based dishes as it breaks up like contaminant powder in the soup. Whenever I'm served with a dish containing a hard boiled egg, my first action is to remove and discard the yolk. But of course, it's not always avoidable or easily removable without making a bigger mess. For example, sliced hard boiled eggs in sandwiches and salads.

Breathing Therapy

The nose has a left and a right side,; we use both to inhale and exhale. Actually they are different, you would be able to feel the difference.

The right side represents the sun, left side represents the moon.

During a headache, try to close your right nose and use your left nose to breathe.

In about 5 mins, your headache will be gone. If you feel tired, just reverse, close your left nose and breathe through your right nose. After a while, you will feel your mind is re-freshed .

Right side belongs to 'hot', so it gets heated up easily, left side belongs to 'cold'.

Most females breathe with their left noses, so they get 'cooled off' faster.

Most of the guys breathe with their right noses, they get workedup.

Do you notice the moment we wake up, which side breathes faster? Left or right? If left is faster, you will feel tired.

So,close your left nose and use your right nose for breathing, you will get refreshed quickly.

This can be taught to kids, but it is more effective when practised by adults.

I used to have bad headaches and was always visiting the doctor. There was this period whenI suffered headache literally every night, and unable to study. I took painkillers, did not work.

I decided to try out the breathing therapy here: closed my right nose and breathed through my left nose.

In less than a week, my headaches were gone! I continue the exercise for one month.

This alternative natural therapy without medication is something that I have experienced.

So, why not give it a try ?

This makes sense: The Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals and not cold water. Maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating!!! Nothing to lose, everything to gain...

For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you.
It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion.

Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine.

Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

A serious note about heart attacks:

• Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting,
• Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.
• You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack.
• Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms.
• 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up.
• Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive.

A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this mail sends it to everyone they know you can be sure that we'll save at least one life.

Study : Cycling Improves Your Sex Life

Noseless bicycle seats overcome deleterious health effects associated with existing seats, while enhancing penile sensation and erectibility.

Results of the study may be potentially useful for the five million recreational cyclists to alleviate perineal discomfort and maintain sexual health.

Ninety bicycling policemen from five metropolitan regions in the US using traditional seats were evaluated prior to changing them and again six months after the switchover to noseless seats.

Use of noseless seats resulted in a reduction in saddle contact pressure in the perineal region. There was a significant improvement in penile tactile sensation.

The percentage of policemen who indicated they had not experienced genital numbness while cycling for the preceding six months rose from 27 percent to 82, using no-nose seats.

Their use also resulted in significant increases in erectile function as assessed by the initial evaluation. But there were no significant changes noted in Rigiscan measures, a method used to record penile rigidity while the subject sleeps.

With few exceptions, bicycle policemen were able to effectively use no-nose seats and 97 percent of men completing the study continued to use the no-nose saddle afterward.

Steven Schrader of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health in Cincinnati, co-author of the study, stated: "No-nose saddles are a useful intervention for bicycling policemen alleviating pressure to the groin and improving penis health.Different seat designs may require some re-learning of 'how to ride a bicycle', but the health benefits of having unrestricted vascular flow to and from the penis and less penile numbness is self-evident."

Irwin Goldstein, director, Sexual Medicine, Alvarado Hospital, San Diego, wrote in an editorial that "for the first time, we have a prospective study of healthy policemen. Not only did their sensation improve, their erectile function also improved.

"Changing saddles changed physiology. This is a landmark study for our field that is important for future riders, and modification of lifestyle showing improvement without any active treatment."
