my tab for 2 kopis, 1 teh, 2 kaya toast meals, 1 nasty lemak, 1 mee siam bo hum, and 2 char kway teow cums out to $69 plus tax. not cheap. but a combo mee pok meal at new tung kee noodles already cost $9.69 plus tax. it used to be $6.99 a few years ago. the lockdown and social distancing rules cause eateries to increase their prices as they need to sanitize and scrub down the cash register and cashless pay point after every transaction plus add on's for plexiglass separators at the counter, hand sanitizer stations, gloves, masks, face shields for employees, sextra take out bags, containers, sauces, napkins, utensils to go. while tech workers in sf and the valley make an average of us$169k per person per year, 69% of the bay area population survive on $69k per household. some latino households have 6.9 mouths to feed. it's either you're rich or you're poor. those in between have already left the area.
And just think how bad it will be when Biden takes over. I was shocked at the prices because its much more sexpensive than Kangaroo land n the yanks n Europeans were complaining a few years back on how sexpensive Kangaroo land was. Now the yanks have caught up
