so you want to have both 3/4G for both sim cards working at the same time when the phone can only use one internet connection? What's the logic behind this? For the sim number yes everyone understands cos both have different numbers but seriously explain why should 1 phone have 2 different internet connections at the same time and also both of them won't be able to work at the same time and it's the same even on a pc. Try connecting say to a wifi network using a seperate network maybe your Hp's internet and then using an ethernet cable to connect to your home internet. Then go ahead and check the IP address of your pc. It only shows one ip address because even your pc can and will only connect to one internet connection and it's typically the ethernet connection it will use.

depending on the model, the new iphone has an embedded "soft-sim" which allows the user to select the carrier of choice from a menu. but it can only handle one carrier at a time. simultaneous multi-carrier sessions are in the works.

Why would you want to simultaneously be on 3G/4G on 2 SIM cards? You're only going to be on the net on 1 SIM card at any one time. The main purpose of dual SIM is to allow you to send and receive voice calls and SMSes using 2 different numbers, to save you the trouble of carrying 2 phones.

Xiaomi may go one up on the competition by packing in features at low prices, but they're not that stupid to offer redundant or illogical functionalities.

Dual SIM are de rigueur for the major Chinese brands like Xiaomi, Lenovo and Huawei, to facilitate change of carriers during domestic travel. The iPhone is a laggard in this regard. It's only its premium status that's sustaining sales in the Chinese market.

eventually devices will be carrier-agnostic and communicate simultaneously on various access technologies with multiple sessions at various internet end points using next gen uicc, including but not limited to wi-fi, bluetooth, li-fi, millimetric wave. it helps to boost reliability, redundancy, throughput, and connectivity - a direction that 5g is going.

dual-sim is transitional and will die out when soft-sim with simultaneous multi-carrier sessions and other access tech is fully tested. it's far better to jump the tech curve than compromise on form factor to host 2 sims.

For example u have a smartphone with dual sim but i only have one of your phone number. So if i whatsapp u on phone number XXXXXXX which u slotted it on GSM whether on sim 1 or sim 2, u won't be able to receive my whatsapp message in real time until u switch phone no XXXXXXX to the sim slot that supports 3G/4G.

i'm testing a device that has simultaneous sessions with 2 carriers, with an average of 2 sessions per carrier. that makes the total number of active sessions at 4. throughput and other performance metrics are aggregated and are hell of amazing. the important result is survivability - one network goes down, the other holds the fort.

Cheebye la nigger do you know how whatsapp works? For someone who claims he knows alot he is so fucking stupid he doesn't know how whatsapp works.

Whatsapp number is tied to that particular phone unless you manually change the number. That is you can slot in the sim card (you need to slot in the sim because whatsapp verifies the number by sending it an sms with a number verification.) then after you have registered the number on that whatsapp on that phone you can take out the sim card and guess what You can still send whatsapp msgs and the number will show up as the very same number you have registered with earlier but have taken out the sim. You can go overseas, use wifi, change the sim etc as long as you have an internet connection that number that you first registered with will always be there unless you manually change it. The sim number can expire but as long as you don't change it on whatsapp the very same number will be there. You can test it out yourself. Surprised you didn't know something as rudimentary as this.
