This morning while queuing up at Malaysia side of the 2nd link to stamp passport, I saw a violent incident.

There were only about 10-20 cars each in the 2 lanes however there is this Proton Waja ( Bxx plate ) who tried to form a Q aggressively and cut into another chap Q.. ( chap driving MYVI Jxx plate )

Both were almost kissing side by side and when Myvi driver let the waja q-cutter pass, he stopped his car, quietly get out of his car with a hammer and what he did shocked me. He literally hammered the driver side of the window which smashed into bits and the hammer whack the brains of the driver who began bleeding profusingly.

I wanted to help but I was in a hurry to return to Singapore to meet my big time customer so I overtook them and left. No one helped and the guy in MYvi walked coolly back into his car and was behind me while I was chopping my passport. He was never stopped and since it was raining, no officers were aware of the incident.

If you know the chap who was hammered, pls do convey my apology but pls help him by telling him not to cut a 10 car Q next time.

Very good. B*stard out-of-state B plate car want to come to Johor and bully Locals with their aggressive driving. Hammer him!!!!! Better still, hammer him until Cripple!!!!!

I damn' fed up after queuing for 1 or 2 kilometres, suddenly got one @$$hole come blazing in at 120 km/h out of nowhere, and cut in right at the front. I hope all of these queue-cutters become Cripple by this hammer man!!!!!

The simple lesson here is: if you want to behave in an uncivil way (by cutting queue in this case), you can expect to be treated in an equally if not more uncivilized and brutal way in return. Uncivility begets uncivility.

Actually I was kinda shocked by the entire incident. If I honked and the chap walked to my car and hammer me as well, who is going to help me? Sorry I don't think I will get close to someone holding a fatal weapon unless I have one too

That aside, have anyone noticed the Q-cutting behaviours have been very bad recently? I see like 5-10 cars in front and another Q-cutting chap would like drive in from behind to form a NEW Q .. I mean, cant they wait? Its just 5-10 cars and 1-2 minutes of wait.

OMG.... you could have at least to horn or shouted at the aggressor. Kind of disappointed by your excuse for not helping. Sorry, just my honest view.

Nothing much happened.
You never know whether the guy is on drugs or not.
It might end up worse for you if you had intervene

New water tariffs in Johor starting August
Published: 31 July 2015 9:17 PM

Water tariffs will go up beginning tomorrow in Johor, the National Water Services Commission (SPAN) announced today.

For domestic users, the new water tariff is 80 sen per cubic metre for the first 20 cubic metres, RM2 per cubic metre for the next 15 cubic metres, and RM3 for each cubic metre in excess of 35 cubic metres.

SPAN said 79.2% of users, or 722,797 accounts, who did not utilise more than 35 cubic metres of water per month would see their bills increase by between RM2 and RM9.25 per month.

For non-domestic users, the new water tariff is RM2.80 for the first 35 cubic metres and RM3.30 for each cubic metre after that.

“The 78.3 per cent of (non-domestic) users (108,920 accounts) who use no more than 35 cubic metres will see the bill increase by between RM4 and RM7 per month," he said.

In its statement, SPAN said the water tariffs in the state were adjusted following Syarikat Air Johor Holdings Sdn Bhd’s proposal to raise water rates last year.

The last time the water tariffs in Johor were reviewed was in November 2010. – Bernama, July 31, 2015.

Looks like once Singaporean are suckered in, the slaughter will start.
True colours are seen.
It's ridiculous.
Should be same for all.

Johor is waking up to the fact that it is running short of fresh water supplies. The revised tariffs for commercial users are still only about half that of Singapore. Fresh water demand will continue to soar at new pricing. Water rationing could become a permanent feature during dry seasons.

Shanmugam discusses “issue relating to water” with Malaysian counterpart
Singapore Foreign Affairs Minister K Shanmugam says Malaysian Foreign Minister Anifah Aman listened and understood Singapore’s position on the issue.

POSTED: 04 Aug 2015 18:45

KUALA LUMPUR: Singapore's Foreign Affairs Minister K Shanmugam has met his Malaysian counterpart Anifah Aman to discuss an issue relating to water, he revealed to reporters on the sidelines of the ASEAN Foreign Minister's Meeting in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday (Aug 4).

"I had some months ago raised with him an issue relating to water which is of importance to us and Prime Minister had also raised it with the Malaysian Prime Minister at the last retreat and I followed up today because it's quite important and he listened and he understood our position," said Mr Shanmugam.

He declined to go into details, but when asked if their discussion had anything to do with the price of water tariffs, he said: "It has something to do with that".

"It's not quite a breakthrough, but we had to say what our position was and we are hoping for certain actions," Mr Shanmugam stated.

His comments come a day after Singapore's Environment and Water Resources Minister Vivian Balakrishnan visited the Linggiu Reservoir in Johor, an important source of water for Singapore. During the visit, Dr Balakrishnan warned that water levels at Linggiu Reservoir are at "unprecedented" low levels.

Singapore currently imports water from Johor, under the terms of the 1962 Water Agreement which expires in 2061. This agreement is guaranteed by both Governments in the 1965 Separation Agreement, which was registered with the United Nations. Both countries have to honour the Water Agreement and the guarantee in the Separation Agreement. Any breach of the Water Agreement would also be a breach of the Separation Agreement and of international law. The Water Agreement provided the two countries with the right to jointly review the price of water after 25 years, in 1987.

However, Malaysia consciously chose not to review the price. Malaysia benefits greatly from the current pricing arrangement. Johor buys 16 million gallons per day of treated water back from Singapore at 50 sen per 1000 gallons. This is a fraction of the true cost to Singa¬pore of treating the water, which includes building and maintaining the water purification plants.

In March last year, Mr Shanmugam told Parliament that Malaysia has lost the right to review the price of water that it supplies to Singapore under the terms of the 1962 Water Agreement. Media reports then suggested that Johor officials wished to raise the price of raw water supplied to Singapore.

If the water supply from the Johor reservoir declines more, Singapore might have to use more expensive water treatment methods to supply water to Johor. If Singapore raises the price of treated water for Johor, then water tariffs in Johor might go up further.

Now the Singaporeans have to subsidise the cost. Convenient for Johor govt to have a large ready pool of deep pocket suckers to bail then out as and when they like.

This is a sensitive and yet critical issue. Best to quietly settle for a win-win situation to extend the water agreement beyond 2061.

I am amaze. With so much rain fall a year, still Johor still run dry with water.

They should be investing a lot more money on water saving and infrastructure. Let the excess water run into reservoir and become fresh water.

If the owner of RM2.6B turn on his tap, surely there will be enough fund to build those infrastructure.

From what I have gathered, they are okay. Rental market is weak, so you cannot be too choosy. Just remember to get them to give standing instructions via e-banking to GIRO the rental every month to your account. Get your agent to send you their screen shot once done.
