Has anybody use a water ionizer before? If possible the lower cost range. Can anyone attest to the health benefits as claimed by supplier? It's supposed to reduce water acidity and increase alkaline level.

Yes, just saw a 'maier' brand selling at homefix for S$60, u need to change filter regularly and says remove 95% of chlorine from water.

Yes, Kangen Water, some people swear by it, but it's like RM10K

Thank you all who replied. Actually almost wanted to buy one, but our kitchen sink area is too small. Heng ah, save the $ for some other purpose! Thanks again!

You mean you don’t install any kind of filter at all? Water in JB is pretty dirty; your filter will turn yellowish within days of use. I feel that you need at least a basic filter , and boil the water for comsumption. Those sophicated filter costing an arm and leg is not required though.

Haha, thank you for yr concern! I am staying in Sg lah. Yesterday I went to Suntec to attend a seminar, pass by another hall holding food fest or something, there was this booth selling ionizer. The demonstration was quite real as in colour change. I was thinking, if got health benefits, how come hospitals not using it.

For particulate trapping, sand or membrane filters can help. Chemical removal requires resin or molecular sieve materials. To generate higher pH, likely u need electrolysis, but u get electrocuted in e process. At e high flow rate out of tap, only a large system is effective. Those fist size system is not effective.

TODAY'S news....
By 2020, 11,000 more beds will be added in acute hospitals, community hospitals and nursing homes, “and these new facilities will serve to meet the demand for healthcare services”, Mr Gan added

Got to be thankful already it doesn't take 9 years like for building a new hospital in Woodlands..

I find it most annoying to read announcement like this. Why every infrastruture also 10 years down the road? Nothing planned for the next 5 years because that will not affect election results?

Got history of recurring kidney stones, SGH cannot find a cure once and for all, thought the alkaline water may help.
Anyway, talking abt side effect, my whole tank of fishes will die the following day after change of water! I think maybe due to too many kinds of chemicals added in. Maybe killing our body softly...& slowly

Drink more water and go toilet more frequently. Herbal drinks will help. Long term treatment is needed.
