He should call in the Auditor General or an independent auditor instead. An arms-length auditor will provide the conclusive verdict.

You guys remember when GST was raised from 5% to 7% or not? Also, then a committee was formed to guage if there was any ABUSE by any establishments that took advantage of the raise to jack up their prices? Well, the result of their findings was NO ABUSE.

kopi price was raised from $0.70 to $0.90, an increase of nearly 30%

This is similar to the Mas Selamat Escape Review. A deputy Director from MHA was appointed to the review team. Now we have a deputy director from MND has been appointed. They are not find anything adverse where their boss is concerned. Its like the Commissioner of Police appointing his Asst Commissioner to determine his performance.
The other point is that he calls a review and in the same breath claims that auditors did not find anything wrong.

LHL now faces his own HPL moment, but it's worse, the issue is no longer one of personal integrity and discounts but "party" integrity. TCB's comments were right on the dot, he could ignore TOC and Alex but TCB'S is somewhat the conscience of the old PAP and commands enough respect within that when he says "something" smells , it means that people within , are asking questions as well.
The town councils were an invention of LKY for the opposition to mismanage, It worked , do remember that the SDP lost and only Chiam and Low survived over the years, He and the PAP have not let of the town council wagon for the last ten years, I.e difference in property values, allegations of mismanagement, etc etc.
IF the PM was serious abt this inquiry it would have been external, Gerald Ee a retired Judge etc etc , the fact that MND is investigating and is reporting back to a Minister who is the PAP Chairman does not give me high hopes.
I can almost predict the outcome of the report.

He was hoping that people have short attention span, but the online community simply did not let up. So no choice, got to come up with committee to sweep it under carpet. But I think he miscalculated again, because people now don't trust investigation committee.

Mas Selamat's case was a special one, because the person who screwed it up was Wong Kan Seng, the 驸马爷 of the Lees. You are NOT supposed to find anything wrong when it comes to royalty.
This time, because the AIM scandal may have a negative repercussion on the by-election performance, perhaps someone prominent might be punished, or at least publicly censured.
aiyah tok so much for what, vote them out and let AIM terminate more contracts. then put AIM out of business when all the town councils under oppositions.
