Dear Scroobal
LHL now faces his own HPL moment, but it's worse, the issue is no longer one of personal integrity and discounts but "party" integrity. TCB's comments were right on the dot, he could ignore TOC and Alex but TCB'S is somewhat the conscience of the old PAP and commands enough respect within that when he says "something" smells , it means that people within , are asking questions as well.
The town councils were an invention of LKY for the opposition to mismanage, It worked , do remember that the SDP lost and only Chiam and Low survived over the years, He and the PAP have not let of the town council wagon for the last ten years, I.e difference in property values, allegations of mismanagement, etc etc.
IF the PM was serious abt this inquiry it would have been external, Gerald Ee a retired Judge etc etc , the fact that MND is investigating and is reporting back to a Minister who is the PAP Chairman does not give me high hopes.
I can almost predict the outcome of the report.
1. No impropriety, though weaknesses and lapses in tenders. perhaps all tenders to go through GE Biz,
2. A stronger declaration on relationships and transactions between third parties.
3. A ban on general managers being managers of the managing agent.
Locke
wonder if TCB comments finally drove the message thru.
So what happened to Grace Fu, Baey and other donkeys who were mouthing their views.
I am sure that no one is expecting anything spectacular from the review but one has to show form and this guy is so behind. Like Mas Selamat, he wanted for the dust to settle but it was not to be as Alex is on No. 6 and Teo Ho Ping is still chasing his tail.[/QUOTE]
