Pii Ram, Yaowarat to Suttisan is quite a distance I think nowadays motor taxi will not do. Moreover guarantee he will barge into another gang along the way. 20baht from Yaowarat to Suttisan is very cheap even with the other 20 baht tip surprised he will do this for only 40 baht as surely he will not have passenger when he get back because he is not allowed to pick up any passenger from another territory.

Actually, the agreed fare was 30bht. and I promised extra 20bht. in a blue king note. He agreed and did it. At least I'm still alive. Those days before MRT, the motorbike taxi gang zones were not so clearly drawn. I used to have nightmares about that ride. He was really devil rider, forget James Bond or Jackie Chan. You know Yaowarat was usually crowded during peak hours. So I walked and walked until the coffinshop (coffinshop, not coffeeshop) side before I could hail a a motorbike taxi.

btw, managed to sneak into 佳家湯包. It's quite cheap 10.5 RMB for 12 in one basket. It's an absolute gem ! Thanks for the recommendation. Even my Taiwanese counterpart claims he had never tasted anything like that in Taiwan.

I was so damn afraid you will leave Shanghai without trying 佳家湯包. I was even thinking about this while driving the dog to hospital this evening. Glad you guys enjoyed. Like I said its the best in Shanghai. Even my wife was surprised with 佳家湯包 when I brought her to the original shop near to 城隍庙 which had been torn down. 佳家湯包 now has 3 outlets just like this, simple and almost rundown but the 汤包 is really excellent.
Hey since there are two of you, you can go try the Hunan restaurant I told you about. Really good but may be a little spicy for your Taiwanese friend. Worth a try.
So I'll be ariving in Shanghai next Saturday night and leaving on Monday morning. Two nights there with my sales manager I'll sure bring him to these two of my favourite restaurants in Shanghai. We will probably be staying in Baron. Any dislike about the hotel?

Joetys, really thanks for reverting back to your good old frog avatar. There was once I told my Thai GF that there's good frog porridge in Singapore. One fine day, she came back from the wet market with four live frogs. I was stunned, what the hell are you going to do with them, do you really know what the hell to do with them? She said porridge would take too long. She slaughtered and skinned them cleanly for a braised fry to go with rice better than anything from Golden Mile to Geylang Serai.
