Blackjack has been mentioned in the other thread on casino gambling, but I think it warrants a separate thread of its own.
Who likes or dislikes playing blackjack?
Do you think you have a good, fair or no chance of winning in the long run? Or do you just play for fun?
What are your thoughts about the game?
What can improve your chances of winning?
Where and how often do you play blackjack?

Please share your thoughts, ideas and insights.

blackjack gives the most advantage to the house.
so when i play i always play banker.
but informal games usually have different rules ,ie must hit minimum 15 points etc, which reduces the odds

the only way i saw people winning in blackjack is when let's say they bet 100 on themselves. then there are other players on the table. that very day, certain players will be on form and what they do is "add extra" bets on these lucky ones till their luck runs out. and when they bet extra is like $few hundred more. if not, most of the time if bet on own hand, is long run lose.

What do you mean you play banker? When you are playing with friends I assume?
Why do you think that the odds are against you when you play at the casino?

Do you go with your good friend to Genting?
How do you go and how long does it take you?

What do you mean by bet 100 on yourself?
Do you mean just bet once and hope that you are lucky and win?
Why will we lose in blackjack in the long run? If we always play at a full table and given that the dealer must hold at 17 and draw at 16, doesn't it make the odds a little better?
