the situation is still not very clear.
there is no official statement by either Keegan or Newcastle.
it is obvious that he is unhappy over something, most probably the interference from the higher management. Cos in a report,it was stated that the latest 2 signings were not his decision or choice.

Saga comes to a close.
Keegan has been unseen on Tyneside since Monday, with Tuesday seeing an outpouring of Geordie grief amid reports that Keegan had been sacked by owner Mike Ashley after a row with sporting director Dennis Wise and managing director Derek Lambias over transfer policy. Despite a public statement from the club that Keegan had not been sacked, it was revealed on Thursday night by the League Managers Association that he had resigned. 'I've been working desperately hard to find a way forward with the directors, but sadly that has not proved possible,' the 57-year-old Keegan said in a statement. 'It's my opinion that a manager must have the right to manage and that clubs should not impose upon any manager any player that he does not want.'
just the same as the Special One at the Blues, when the higher or owner interfere with the selection and buy of players, sure to clash.
good for him and the club.
Maybe this time,Alan Shearer will come forward to lead the club.

as a player,he is one of the greatest.
but as a manager,he cannot take the pressure.
once the pressure is too much for him to handle or things do not go the way he wants,he will just walk away.

this maybe good for both him and the club.

Newcastle manager job is like the Prime Minster of Thailand and Japan, nobody can last for long in that position.

Man Utd Sir Alex Ferguson manager job is like Singapore PM position, so stable and unbreakable.

Newcastle feels that they belong at the top 3 depsite their lacklustre performance in sooo many seasons. No manager can last as long as this mentality exists.

True... he maybe a hero in newcastle and a great motivator, but he has lousy tactical sense that is required to win games. You can hardly see him change tactics and win games :(

Agree on that bro. Not to bad mouth Keegan, but he does have a history of not 'completing his jobs' in his past appointments. I am not surprised that he is suddenly resigning again now.

interesting to see who will be ask or employ to take over from him.
now i think they will turn to - Alan Shearer to salvage and steer them on the right path.

keegan left becoz of denise wise.....u can't transfer players without going through the manager.....tatz what wise did.......alan shearer won't take up the job if he can't have total control of the transfer of the players & management of the 1st team......

Newcastle want to sue Keegan for 2 million pounds (5.19 millions SGD) for walking out, while Keegan believes he has a case for his own compensation after losing a power struggle with Dennis Wise, the excutive director.

It's my opinion that a manager must have the right to manage and a club should not impose on any manager any player that he doesn't want. I've been left with no choice other than to leave. by Keegan

just as guess, interference from the top management on the selection and buying of players, same as what happen to the Special One at Chelsea.

I agreed with him on it,what players to buy and what players to play, should be left to the manager to decide.

Alan Shearer rules himself out for the job.
reason is the same as why Keegan quits.
a manager must have overall control of player coming in and out of the team.
any interference from anyone will not be good.
