If C.S.T. and L.T.K. decide to call it a day, enough is enough, and retire with their pension (which is surely more personally profitable than to take full allowance but spend a hefty portion on party and constituency matters with all the works and headaches), then how? If Sebastian Teo and Dr. Chee also simply give up, then how?

If WP, SPP, NSP and SFD all close shopw, then how?

Democracy is finished!?

If no opposition party is willing to step forward, then SG will become a one party state not just in spirit, but in reality.

That is why Cherian George said: "Theirs is a lonely enough path; they do not need stones thrown at them."

The american freedom fighters were touted to be anti-autocracy, which also sparked 1 of the reasons why Bush snr authorized a campaign to remove Saddam nearly 15yrs ago. some 5yrs ago, Bush Jr launched another campaign into Iraq, and called it a motion for "regime change".

Is it time the freedom fighters to consider addressing regime change here too?

next election, the Oppisition should really discussion among themselves,to ensure that there is no 3 corners' fight.
also do not concentrate on too many districts, maybe pull each party's best candidates and go for a GRC.
once,a GRC falls into the Opposition, then there will be something for them else i can see that PAP will slowly chop-off those single ward.

Human nature (being what it is) shall probably never allow such a situation to occur indefinitely. Dissenters in one form or another shall inevitably arise. A political vacuum is probably the worse thing for the PAP Government even though it may look appealing at face value, especially in this day and age.

No problem. You have a lot of opposition kakis to choose from. Yaw, Tong, Go, Han etc are all willing to step into CST, LTK, CSJ, ST shoes.

When persuaded to take the place, what happened when decided to actually do the job?

no,sir.

if you believe that SG is a one party dictatorship then the disappearance of the approved opposition will help democratic forces from finding their rightful role in society.

your statement is superficial and based purely on electoral politics and a parliament without constitutionalism.

these are PAP strongholds, monopoly in fact. so, the approved opposition's role is to make being undemocratic a virtue.

we need to talk about building alternative power centres a la jufrie. dont worry about the disappearance of Chiam, Low, Slim and other sham oppositionists, it would not make SG less democratic.
