Village Example - Using Search Group for Streamlining Screen Layout by Ownership

In this Village example, we look into how a Customer to your Site can take control of the screen with each having a distinct layout. Each Customer ( which is an owner ) has a list of subscribers, are then free to determine their layout and where to display.

As the hosting Site, you only allocated a small area to host the access buttons to these customer and a small logo if necessary. For this example, we are using a full HD 1920x1080 Touch screen and it shows how the Site and it's customer handles the redirection of displays and the relationship in it's project's information setting (owner, branch, client and anonymous).

First, create a search Group

1. Point the folder to your collections.
2. Defines the area for access buttons ( Search result of all "owners" in the collections ).
3. A Display.ntb ( which describes what you want to do with the resulting display ).

As a hosting site, in your display.ntb you define screen areas for hosting each of your customer's subscribers ie.

1. Owner ( the customer )
2. Branch ( the customer's branches )
3. Client ( the customer's client )
4. Anonymous ( An anonymous entry/feedback to the owner )

The areas for display are sieve from top to bottom, you can define more then one display for each of these ownership base on type, size or search value. For each of these screen area, you add a window to describe it's screen rectangle and type ( Fixed or Button ). A site should have a minimum of one Fixed Window set as Primary, this is to receive the incoming pages and for hosting any touches to a button, it will be displayed in this Window.

After creating the Window, you can place one or more objects to define the searches. In the diagrams, a single vector shape is added with a single space for the search value which means it wants all entries to be captured for that particular ownership.

However, a customer can override the default layout by including a link in it's project information to describe her layout with a ntb file.

This customer also has a bunch of subscribers, which, she has to set up each of her own subscribers through a series of relationship targeting herself.

This is the new customer screen layout after it included a link to describe how it's subscribers should be displayed.

This is another example of a customer "Public" screen layout. In the link ntb it contains the configuration to direct it's subscribers as shown in the diagram. Besides Owner, there are 3 types of ownership which your subscribers can be configured to, so careful planning is needed, whether it is place in a private or public domain.

Here's another example of a customer "Road" screen layout. There are 7 subscribers (files) with 2 set of clients and a branch.

The branch is a single display, a ntb file with a Scroll Window and a normal Window with text and graphic.

The clients are directed onto a row of buttons and a single display (side.ntb which contains a Splash and a normal Window with text and graphic).
Both group clients are identified through the use of keywords to segregate them using search.

Here's the sample.

Download Village.rar and unzip to C:\ drive, otherwise just change the folder in the Shandong.ntb to point to where you unzip to.

Here's the Links.rar.

If you only want to see how links are configure, just download the above will do, otherwise you can download one or all of the following to see how it's implemented.

homer.rar - 17 MB
public.rar - 6 MB
road.rar - 9 MB
beijing.rar - 19 MB
crop.rar - 15 MB

Unzip these to ...Vicinity\Shandong

harvestRice movie clip - 85 MB

Unzip this movie clip to ...Vicinity\Shandong\crop

Note: This is only one of the 4 movie clips, you can replace those missing with your own or change all to point to the same clip.
