Bleak.Would anyone of you like to share your crystal ball vision of what Singapore will be like in 5 & 10 years time basing on what is happening now, in and outside the country?:o
1. Mrs LKY would have left this world.
2. LKY getting old and senile and lonely. At the same time, he is afraid of death. And we know old people are paraniod. He will think some younger enemy is out to get him.
3. The famiLEE, with its patriarch weak and malfunctioning, will be anxious to consolidate its power even through they have not done much to deserve the tremendous wealth it was accumulated - billions more than later fellow Pinoy dictator, Pres. Macros and Mega-sultan Suharto.
4. Our neighbours, forever envious of Singapore wealth, will want to cause problems to divert their own problems at home.
Singapore will be turned into a inward looking police state, fighting to make itself relevant because it has been making use of other countries to succeed. (Eg buying sand, abusing maids, buying other telco, influencing others with its dictatorship style of leadership etc)
Perhaps I'll share what I see in my crystal ball one or two at a time. Before I am unable to recall it. The numbering will be indicative of each recollection and will not be repeated.
So here goes.
1) Changi Airport will be renamed Lee Kuan Yew International Airport.
2) 2 monuments erected in LKY's memory becomes the targets of the most frequent attempts at vandalism in the country's history.
3) FT numbers reaches 25 percent of the total population.

Geylang will always be opened except that by then, it will be totally controlled by PRCs.
4) Malaysia and Singapore finally agreed on a bridge to replace the causeway.
