It also pointed out that under Singapore laws, citizens are free to hold demonstrations without applying for permits if these are held at Speakers' Corner in Hong Lim Park and do not touch on matters relating to race and religion. Demonstrations held elsewhere outdoors require permits.

The Singapore event has caught the attention of a popular local satirist, blogger mrbrown, who wrote on his blog this week: 'If Singapore had an Occupy Wall Street protest in Raffles Place, we'd probably do it with tissue packets and come back later. sdp is a unorthodox opp political that needs those who know their hidden motive, agenda and mischief have to expose them to prevent them from misleading singaporeans and turn singapore chaotic.

if they are really sincere and authentic, they would have been voted into parliament. but the bare facts about SDP is just the dumps after chiam see tong lost it to chee soon juan. after so many years of confrontation with gov, what does sdp ever get?

practically NOTHING! yet one should stop and ask this question: WHY THEN IS CHEE SOON JUAN still holding rein to SDP? his pledge of "democracy" - where does it stand?

chee imho is the mini-lau lee - the same duplicating tyranny if chee were to be really in power. it could be even worst.
