Uncle rescued at Bedok Res'voir say he was not trying to commit suicide

The Singaporean man who was found floating in Bedok Reservoir said he was not trying to kill himself.

The man, Mr Ng Kim Seng, 52, told The New Paper from his hospital bed that he had been drinking and could not recall how he ended up in the reservoir.

At around 5.30pm, four canoeists spotted the man floating face up in the water.

At first, they thought it was the body of Indian construction worker Raman Selvam, 33, who was reported missing on Saturday. His body was found in Bedok Reservoir on Monday morning.

The man was unconscious but alive and has been taken to Changi General Hospital.

One of the men who helped save him said he smelled of alcohol.

Rescuers also noticed that he had a small slash wound on his left wrist, which had a plaster on it.

Mr Ng said he was facing problems and wanted to drink his sorrows away. He declined to say what they were, but added that he drank a lot and became very drunk.

He decided to take a walk to Bedok Reservoir but could not remember how he fell into the water or when he was rescued.

Police investigations are ongoing.

Is a stupid move to acknowledge that have the intention to commit suicide after you have been "recused".... Because when you are not dead or die already, the mata will charge you...

Must likely the drunken joker was trying to ask the water ghosts to give him 4 numbers but slipped and fell into the water.
