The regular punter had already won $1,000 in a 4-D draw last Wednesday and was full of joy when she heard that a different number had also struck in a draw three days later.
For the second 'win', her son told her he had seen the number 5601 listed as a starter prize on an iPhone application - SG Live 4D - which he subscribes to.
That 'win' would have paid $250. But when Madam Wong Yoke Sin, 72, counter-checked the draw results on a TV teletext service last Saturday, she found out that the winning number was actually 5061, not 5601.
When she called local betting operator Singapore Pools, she was told that it does not own the app. Contacted by The Straits Times on Monday, SG Live 4D co-founder Chin Kwek Loong, 40, apologised for the data-entry error. He said a staff member - stationed at the Singapore Pools headquarters when the draw took place - had keyed the wrong information into the program's backend system via a smartphone.
