An unemployed man made a 12-year-old boy he met earlier in a toilet perform oral sex on him and vice versa, a district court heard on Monday.

Tan Geok Kim, 60, admitted to two counts of sexually abusing a minor at his flat in Eunos Crescent on Aug 12, 2009.

The court heard that the two had met earlier at the toilet of the Eunos MRT station. Tan followed the student out and told him that he was 'very handsome'.

He asked for the boy's contact number, intending to meet him for oral sex.

A child molester was charged in court this morning for sexually assaulting young boys.

The unemployed 60-year-old Chen Yu Jin was charged with sexually assaulting a 12-year-old boy, another 14-year-old boy and for owning pornographic videos.

Chen met one of his victims, the 12-year-old boy in a public toilet at Eunos MRT on 12 August 2009.

At that time, Chen felt that the boy was very good looking and followed him to a bus stop before approaching the boy for his phone number.

He exchanged numbers with the boy and arranged to meet the boy the following day at the MRT again.

The next day, Chen brought the boy home and began caressing the boy's private parts in the lift to his flat.

He then brought the boy into his room and kissed the boy on his lips. Then he performed oral sex on the boy and made the boy do the same for him.

Later on, Chen tried to give the boy a homosexual pornography DVD as a present but this was rejected by the boy.

The boy called the police after he left Chen's flat. The boy claims to be too scared to resist Chen's attempts to carry out indecent acts on him.

If convicted, Chen faces a jail term of 20 years, or a fine, or caning, or any combination of the three. However, as Chen is above the age of 50, he will be spared the cane.

Chen, accompanied by his lawyer, had originally intended to admit to the charges this morning but unexpectedly changed his mind in court.

After the court interpreter read to him the 20-year jail term that he faces, Chen appeared worried, then declared that he will fight the charges instead.

Seeing Chen's abrupt change of mind, the judge ordered a temporary adjournment to allow Chen time to discuss the matter further with his lawyer.

He later returned to court again and admitted to the charges.
